The St. John of the Cross Annual Apple Harvest Festival will be Sunday, Sept. 14, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Shepardson Community Center at 1172 Whittemore Road in Middlebury. As if on cue, cool fall weather has arrived ahead of the official beginning of fall, just in time for the festival. Enjoy fresh apples, apple pies and apple fritters as well as hot dogs, burgers, BBQ pork sandwiches and chili, all of which will be for sale. There also will be a silent auction and a tag sale and children’s activities, including face painting. Enjoy a day of family fun at this church fundraiser!
