The Middlebury Conservation Commission (CC) at its Nov. 25 meeting accepted an application for clearing and grading in a regulated area owned by Thyrza Whittemore at 197 Tranquility Road. Whittemore submitted the application after receiving a violation notice for doing the work without a permit. She used photos of the area to show commissioners the removal of invasive shrubs, saplings, vines and dead trees, noting the area was now seeded over. She agreed to site visits by members to walk the property.
There is no December meeting. The next regular CC meeting will be Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at 7:30 p.m. in Room 26 at Shepardson Community Center.
