The 32nd Connecticut Cactus and Succulent Society show and sale will be this Saturday, April 11, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Naugatuck Valley Community College. The event includes a judged show featuring hundreds of cactus and succulent plants from all over the world.
Entrance is free, as is parking. Each day, 50 free plants, one per family, will be given away. Vendors will come from as far away as Florida and will sell a broad selection of plants and related gardening materials. Plant auctions will be held at least twice daily.
Twenty-minute lectures will focus on growing and caring for the plants. Lecture topics include “Hardy Cacti for the Connecticut Garden,” “Growing Cactus and Succulents under Lights,” and “Living Stones.”
Find the show and sale in the fifth-floor cafeteria of the Art and Music Center building at Naugatuck Valley Community College at 750 Chase Parkway in Waterbury . The show is handicapped accessible. See ctcactusclub.org for additional information.
