Free pulmonary screening at Waterbury Hospital

 

WH.PULMONARY.SCREENING.FLYER.D5WATERBURY, Oct. 2, 2015 ― Waterbury Hospital is partnering with the Alpha 1 Foundation and Waterbury Pulmonary Associates to sponsor a free pulmonary screening on Monday, Oct. 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Bizzozero Conference Room, 64 Robbins Street, Waterbury.

The event will offer both a free genetic COPD screening and a free breathing test. Genetic testing consists of a finger prick and is suggested for people with any of the following conditions: shortness of breath, chronic bronchitis, COPD, wheezing, asthma, emphysema, smokers or ex-smokers, those with family history of lung or liver disease, chronic or unexplained liver disease. It tests for the Alpha 1 protein deficiency, which can result in serious lung disease in adults and/of liver disease at any age.

No fasting is required. Refreshments will be served.
