Great Courses

The Great Courses DVD Lecture Series meets Mondays at 11 a.m. The topic for the month of March is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: Techniques for Retraining Your Brain. Each Monday, enjoy one hour of lectures and light refreshments. At the end of the month, participate in a group discussion based on the month’s lectures.

Mystery Book Group

The Mystery Book Group will meet Thursday, March 10, at 6 p.m. to discuss Randy Wayne White’s “Night Visions.” New members are welcome.

Black bear lecture

Tuesday, March 15, at 6:30 p.m., the library will offer an educational program on black bears by a master wildlife conservationist. This free program, which will last about one hour, is prepared by the State of Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. All are welcome; registration is required.

Pinterest

Tech Talk will focus on Pinterest Wednesday, March 16, at 11 a.m. and Tuesday, March 22, at 6 p.m. Pinterest is a visual bookmarking tool that helps you discover and save creative ideas.

Health lectures

The Libraries Inspiring Fitness Education program Friday, March 18, lecture at 1 p.m. will be on colon cancer. Please check the library website for more information.

Middle School Masterminds

The Middle School Masterminds, youth in grades six to eight, will meet Tuesday, March 29, at 4 p.m. They will design bookmarks to print on the 3D printer. They can create one from scratch using Tinkercad or customize one from Thingiverse. Registration is required,

March teen programs

March features a teen DIY video series. Watch a short tutorial video; then try it yourself at home. Bring your finished project to the library to be put on display. Topics include: Code with Scratch on Thursday, March 10, at 4 p.m., No-sew T-shirt Refashion on Tuesday, March 15, at 4 p.m.; and Microwave Desserts on Tuesday, March 29, at 4 p.m
