The first of three Middlebury fundraisers this month that involve food will be the Middlebury Congregational Church Strawberry Festival Wednesday, June 8, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on the Green (Route 188) in Middlebury. It will be followed Saturday, June 18, by the Middlebury Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary lobster bake and Saturday, June 25, by the St. John of the Cross chicken dinner.
The strawberry festival food offerings, in addition to homemade strawberry shortcake, will be hamburgers, hot dogs, and barbecued chicken, either by the platter or a la carte, and ice cold lemonade. The festival includes games and musical entertainment. This is a rain or shine event. If it is raining, activities will move inside.
