Dr. W. Scott Peterson kindly sent us these two photos of a black bear he saw on Route 64 near Upper Whittemore Road in Middlebury Monday, July 11, at 7:45 a.m. In the photo on the left, it appears to be crossing the Greenway. This reporter had planned to walk her dog this morning on this very stretch of the Greenway!
