Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) said there will be a delay in re-opening the state boat launch on the Branford River in Branford. The launch was closed for renovations late in the summer of 2016 and was originally scheduled to re-open in mid-November, but construction issues still need to be addressed.
The completed launch will be a state-of-the-art, handicapped-accessible design and will include a two-lane grooved concrete slab ramp with concrete pavers to prevent erosion; a regraded parking lot and a floating dock system to facilitate the safe and efficient launching and retrieval of boats.
Every effort will be made to open the launch as soon as possible. Boaters should check the Branford River State boat launch page on the DEEP Boating Division WEB site at Branford Boat Launch for updates.
