Middlebury Elementary School is presenting “The Wizard of Oz” at Memorial Middle School in Middlebury today, Thursday, June 1, and tomorrow, Friday, June 2. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. each night Admission is one canned good for the Middlebury Food Bank, and limited tickets are available at the door on show nights.

Inspired by L. Frank Baum’s timeless tale, the MES version features an all-student cast of 160 thespians/crew members and includes marvelous munchkins, ferocious flying monkeys, and, of course, Dorothy and her trusty canine companion, Toto!

The production is a joint effort of the entire MES school community  ̶  students, teachers and parents all collaborated to lend their talents for the upcoming presentation. Interim Principal and Play Director MaryLou Torre said, “This is an amazing opportunity for multi-age students to work together toward a common goal. The more the play has come together, it is clear that something enchanting is happening.”

Torre added, “I have been amazed every day about how the production is sparking magic in the MES community.  Parents, students, and teachers have pulled together to ensure that something extraordinary happens on the stage.   This production is something that will delight the entire family!”
