The second of five Newtown Savings Bank free summer concerts on Wednesday, July 12, at 6:30 p.m. in Hollow Park in Woodbury will feature alternative country band, The Rakes. Bring your picnic and blanket or chairs and enjoy a summer evening of great music, different every week for five weeks
The Rakes are a rootsy, alt-country, Americana band with a rock ’n roll attitude. Made up of members from Southbury, Oxford, Woodbury and Bethlehem, The Rakes play mostly covers and say, “most you’ll know and the others you should know.”
Band members include Phil Beach on guitar, mandolin and vocals; Chris Allan on guitar and vocals; Marc Poliquin on vocals; Scott Sullivan on drums and vocals; Cole Christie on sax and Bob Sherman on bass and vocals. Updates, pictures and video can be found on Facebook by searching for CT Rakes.
