Oct. 30, 2017 — Middlebury has 426 Eversource customers, or 13 percent, without power at 6:15 a.m.; Southbury has 208, or 2 percent without power. Watertown is in better shape, with 91, or 0.9 percent without power, but Naugatuck was hit hard and has 1,517 customers, or 11 percent, waiting for power to be restored. Oxford has 86 customers, or 2 percent without power, Woodbury has 58 customers, or 1 percent, without power, and Waterbury has 326 customers, or 0.64 percent without power.
The eastern half of the state was hardest hit as far as power outages (Colchester has 85 percent of its Eversource customers in the dark, and 83 percent of the Ledyard customers are without power), but every town and city in the state was left with at least some customers without electricity following last night’s powerful storm. Statewide, nearly 150,000, or 12 percent of the Eversource customers, are without power while 6,535, or 2 percent, of United Illuminating customers are without power.
