Gingerbread Village & Christmas Bazaar
St. George’s Episcopal Church on Tucker Hill Road in Middlebury celebrates its 50th year of offering a Gingerbread Village and Christmas Bazaar through Saturday, Dec. 9. The event includes a bake shoppe, decorate your own cookie, dollar store, Christmas crafts, basket raffle, and Saturday luncheons. For more information, visit gingerbreadvillagect.com. MVFD Ladies Auxiliary Annual Holiday Cookie Walk
Stock up at the cookie walk, and you can offer your family and holiday guests beautiful and tasty holiday cookies. They’ll think you spent hours slaving over a hot oven!

Menorah Lighting
All are invited to the annual Menorah Lighting on the Middlebury Green Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 3:30 p.m. as Hanukkah begins. The ceremony will include traditional Hanukkah blessings and the song, “Rock of Ages.” Attendees will be invited to take responsibility for lighting menorah candles on the following nights. Pancake Breakfast
The Middlebury Congregational Church is serving up a pancake breakfast Saturday, Dec. 16, from 8 to 10 a.m. at the church at 1242 Whittemore Road (on the Green) in Middlebury. Tickets are $5 per person. For more information, call 203-758-2671.

Waterbury Chorale Concerts
This year’s Waterbury Chorale holiday concerts will be Saturday, Dec. 9, at 8 p.m. at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Litchfield and Sunday, Dec. 10, at 4 p.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church On the Green in Waterbury. The featured choral work in the first half will be John Rutters’ “Magnificat,” a seven-movement composition written in 1990. The soprano solo will be sung by Louise Fauteaux of Connecticut. The second half of the program will feature a mixture of Christmas and seasonal choral works.

Victorian Christmas
The Roxbury Congregational Church at 24 Church St. in Roxbury will bring a Victorian Christmas to life Saturday, Dec. 9, at 5 p.m. in a sanctuary adorned with evergreens, seasonal ribbons and lights. The service will include period carols, prayer and the story of Christmas being told and will feature the a cappela group, Montage, singing Victorian music while dressed in period costumes.

Christmas dinner with Santa
Enjoy a free Christmas dinner with Santa Claus Sunday, Dec. 10, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Assumption Church Hall at 61 N. Cliff St. in Ansonia, Conn. Santa will visit from 1 to 2 p.m. (Bring your camera to take pictures.)
