The Middlebury Social Services Department and the Middlebury Assessor’s Office are accepting applications for the Elderly and Totally Disabled Homeowners’ and the Additional Veteran’s Tax Credit Programs.
Homeowners applications must be filed no later than May 15, 2018. Applicants must be at least 65 years of age or have filed for Totally Disability with the Assessor’s Office, own and reside at the residence and comply with income limits.
Additional Veterans’ applications must be submitted no later than Oct. 1, 2018.
Veteran’s Honorable Discharge papers must be on file with the Middlebury Town Clerks, and applicants must Middlebury residents and comply with income limits.
Completed Applications must be filed with all statements of income for 2017 or a copy of 2017 Federal Tax Return AND Social Security Statements.
Income Limits for 2017 Total Adjusted Gross Income PLUS Social Security are $43,000 for a married couple and $35,300 for a single individual.
Applications may be picked up at the Middlebury Social Services Department at Shepardson Community Center at 1172 Whittemore Road, Room 20, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or at the Assessor’s Office at Town Hall at 1212 Whittemore Road Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
