Have you been wondering what happened to the bold yellow mail box with the Lions insignia that stood in front of Dinova’s for many years? Wonder no more. It has moved down the street to a new home outside Larry’s Wine & Spirits. Please take your used prescription glasses there and put them in the box.

Lions Club members periodically pick up the glasses donated there and take them to an eye glass store in Brass City Mall that is a coordinator for the national Lions Club. After the glasses have been cleaned, sorted and packaged, they are distributed to low- and middle-income folks in need.

The eyeglass program is part of the Lions Club’s mission to prevent blindness, restore eyesight and improve eye health and eye care. Lions also support Lions Eye Banks that provide eye tissue for sight-saving surgeries. provide vision screenings for hundreds of thousands of people every year and help prevent blindness by providing treatment to those at risk of losing their vision.
