Loving father, grandfather and brother
Anthony J. Corbo, 86, of Waterbury passed away Monday, Jan. 21, 2019 at the VITAS Inpatient Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Patricia (DiMaria) Corbo.
Tony was born in Waterbury on June 13, 1932, a son of the late Canio and Domenica (Summa) Corbo. Tony proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a self-employed painting contractor for over 50 years in the Waterbury community.
Tony leaves behind his children, Monica Moreno and her husband, Henry, of Tinton Falls, N.J.; Anthony Corbo and his wife, Carol, of Waterbury; Carl Corbo and his wife, Cynthia, of Torrington; and Carmine Corbo of Waterbury; his siblings, Genevieve Fillipelli and her husband, Ralph, of Middlebury and Richard Corbo of Phoenix, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his siblings, Vito Corbo, Armenia Corbo, Ralph Corbo, Catherine Pelosi, Donata Corbo, Carmella Lambertti, Canio Corbo Jr., Salvatore Corbo, and Rosemary McLeod.
A funeral service with Tony’s cremains present will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Brookside Memorial, The Albini Family Funeral Home and Crematory at 200 Benson Road in Middlebury, Conn. Burial of cremains will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Waterbury.
