Dunn and Eleanore Coale Dunn, on Aug. 26, 1930. She was educated in Somerville Schools and graduated from Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, in 1952 with a bachelor of arts degree. Later that year, she married Albert S. Redway Jr. and followed him as an Army wife to Oklahoma and Louisiana, returning home when Lieutenant Redway was sent to Korea. On his return, the Redways settled in Middlebury and later in Woodbury, raising their two sons, Albert (Tad) S. Redway III and James DeCamp Redway.
Nonnie was a member of the Waterbury Junior League, chaired the Admission Committee and served as co-chairman for “The Follies,” a volunteer musical production for the benefit of the Waterbury Hospital. She worked many years, several times a week, as a remedial reading teacher for the Connecticut Junior Republic in Litchfield, Connecticut
Mrs. Redway was a long-time member of the National Society of the Colonial Dames based on her ancestral heritage during the Colonial Period of American history. Her interest in the Dames accelerated, and she served many years on the board of directors. She was on the nominating committee and co-chaired the “Tags and Treasures” sale to raise funds for the Society. She was a past member of the Highfield Club and belonged to the Middlebury Congregational Church for over 60 years, serving as a deaconess and on various committees in her younger days. She was an avid gardener and spent many happy hours in her gardens with her flowers.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Virginia Dunn Murphy. She leaves her two sons; her daughter-in-law, Liza; her grandchildren, Christopher, Jason, and Holly; and her brother John E. Dunn III.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 29, 2019, at noon at the Middlebury Congregational Church in Middlebury, Connecticut.
