Memorial Middle School students Samarth Keerthivasan, left, and Julia Pellegrini, right, hold awards from the Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS). The eighth-graders, their families and school officials were recognized at the annual CAS Middle Level Scholar-Leader Banquet held June 3 at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington. Scholar leaders from middle schools across Connecticut attended this formal student recognition award ceremony. It is the prestigious and most distinguished award a middle school student can receive. It gives public recognition to one boy and one girl from each middle school in Connecticut for having distinguished themselves in scholarship and leadership in school and the community.
