Frances Marie Jacobs, 76, of Southbury passed away peacefully on Friday Jan. 31, 2020, after battling a long illness. Her daughters were by her side.
She was born on Oct. 29, 1943, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, a daughter of the late Edward and Tessie (Andrzejewski) Czaplicki of Fairfield, and she was the wife of the late Lester Jacobs of Stratford. She was a graduate of Andrew Ward High School and was an accountant for most of her life until she retired in 2009.
Fran was a very caring and loving woman. She was the type of person who would take the extra time out to make others feel special. Fran was especially generous to those she loved and would go above and beyond to make sure they had whatever they wanted or needed. Some would say Fran was strong willed and at times an outright “stubborn Polack”– demanding and impatient at times but that is what made her who she was.
Fran was very creative, and her passions and talents were many. You would often find her working on a project, be it sewing curtains, working on her Christmas village, making holiday baskets for the grandkids, puttering in her garden, or designing and decorating spaces in her home. She would fuss over every little detail until it was exactly how she wanted it.
She adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them and spoiling them. She especially enjoyed the family trips to Disney World because she loved to see the smiles on their faces, even when it became difficult for her to get around.
Fran is survived by daughters, Lisa Miskella and Laura and husband, Brad DeMotte; six grandchildren, Jessica Lepri, Kaitlyn Gehm, William Miskella, Abagail Miskella, Michelle DeMotte and Nicole DeMotte; her four great-grandchildren, Jayden Torino, Brianna Lepri, Kimmie Lepri, and Madison Gehm; and loving cousin and lifelong friend, Barbara Camp.
She will be deeply missed by friends, family and all who knew her. Friends are invited to attend a funeral service Sunday, Feb. 9, 2020, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home at 235 Main St. N. in Southbury, Connecticut.
