At 6 p.m. Sunday, state officials said there were 1,993 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Connecticut as of 12:30 p.m. Sunday, March 29. This is an increase of 469 cases over the 1,524 the day before at 12 p.m. The number of confirmed cases in Middlebury increased to 5 from 2.
The groups with the largest number of cases were ages 50 – 59 (428 cases) followed by ages 40 – 49 (324 cases) and ages 60 – 69 (314 cases).
Note: The Sunday, March 29, report did not include data breaking down hospitalizations by age group. On Saturday, March 28, the groups with the largest number of hospitalizations were ages 70-79 (46 cases) followed by ages 80 and older (42 cases) and ages 60 – 69 (42 cases).

The state reports 404 patients were hospitalized, and 34 have died. A state public health lab has tested 1,761 patients, and 279, or 19%, of those tested positive. Statewide, more than 11,900 tests have been reported.
