At 4 p.m. Sunday, Connecticut state officials said there were 12,035 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state as of 12 p.m. Sunday, April 12. This is an increase of 525 cases over the 11,510 the day before at 12:30 p.m. The number of confirmed cases in Middlebury remained at 15.

On Sunday, 1,654 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, and 554 had died.

501 cases were pending address validation.

Cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 15, Naugatuck – 71, Oxford – 37, Southbury – 63, Woodbury – 13, Watertown – 39, Waterbury – 512.

Hospitalization numbers were: Fairfield County had 688 (+12) patients, New Haven County had 535 (+21) patients, and Hartford County had 333 (+22) patients. Other counties had 39 or fewer patients.

The groups with the largest number of cases were ages 50 – 59 (2,372 cases) followed by ages 40 – 49 (1,972 cases) and ages 60 – 69 (1,947 cases).

The report said 41,220 patients had been tested, an increase of 1,389 patients over the day before.
