At 4 p.m. Thursday, Connecticut state officials said there were 23,100 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state as of 1 p.m. Thursday, April 23. This is an increase of 631 cases over the 22,469 the day before at 1 p.m. The number of confirmed cases in Middlebury increased to 29 (+1).

On Thursday, 1,947 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, a decrease of 25 patients, and 1,639 had died, an increase of 95 deaths.

Cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 29, Naugatuck – 133, Oxford – 51, Southbury – 112, Woodbury – 28, Watertown – 63, Waterbury – 1,014.
