At 4 p.m. Thursday, Connecticut state officials said there were 27,700 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state as of 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 30. This is an increase of 933 cases over the 26,767 the day before at 11:45 a.m. The number of confirmed cases in Middlebury increased to 34.
On Thursday, 1,650 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, a decrease of 41 patients, and 2,257 had died, an increase of 89 deaths.
Cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 34, Naugatuck – 176, Oxford – 58, Southbury – 134, Woodbury – 31, Watertown – 87, Waterbury – 1,298.
