PhysicianOne Urgent Care and the Town of Newtown are hosting COVID-19 drive-through testing for pre-screened patients Thursday, May 14, by appointment only between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. at PhysicianOne Urgent Care at 266 South Main Street in Newtown, Connecticut.
Individuals do not need to be patients of PhysicianOne Urgent Care, but all patients must register in advance for a test. The testing location also will be available for essential workers (including healthcare workers, first responders, postal workers, pharmacy workers, food and agriculture workers, grocery employees, public works and other infrastructure employees), even if they are asymptomatic.
Patients must register for a car-side medical evaluation and testing by Wednesday, May 13, at 12 p.m. Tests will be performed by licensed health care providers on site Thursday. Patients who are interested can learn more here.
Testing is an important aspect in tracking and containing COVID-19, and this allows access to testing that those who live in Newtown and the surrounding areas may not have access to currently. Drive-up testing is available every day at PhysicianOne Urgent Care at specific reservation times. PhysicianOne Urgent Care also offers antibody testing at all locations.
