COVID-19 Update – May 21, 2020 – 39,208 cases

On Thursday, May 21, 2020, Connecticut state officials said there were 39,208 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state as of Wednesday, May 20, at 8:30 p.m. This is an increase of 191 cases over 39,017 on Wednesday, May 20, at 12 p.m.  The number of confirmed cases in Middlebury increased to 44 (+1).

On Wednesday at 8:30 p.m, 816 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, a decrease of 71 from the 887 patients at noon May 20. At 8:30 p.m., 3,582 people had died, an increase of 53 deaths since noon May 20.

Cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 44, Naugatuck – 339, Oxford – 77, Southbury – 158, Woodbury – 40, Watertown – 136, Waterbury – 1,775.
