On Wednesday, July 8, Connecticut state officials said on Tuesday, July 7, at 8:30 p.m., there were 47,108 COVID-19 cases in the state. This is an increase of 75 cases over the 47,033 on Monday, July 6, at 8:30 p.m. The total number of cases in Middlebury remained at 48.

On Tuesday at 8:30 p.m., 88 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, an increase of 5 patients, and 4,343 people had died, an increase of 5 deaths.

Cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 45 confirmed and 3 probable, Naugatuck – 390 confirmed and 9 probable, Oxford – 79 confirmed and 3 probable, Southbury – 195 confirmed and 5 probable, Woodbury – 51 confirmed and 1 probable, Watertown – 146 confirmed and 7 probable, Waterbury – 1,951 confirmed and 85 probable.
