COVID-19 Update – July 20, 2020 – 48,055 cases

In the first report since Friday, July 17, Connecticut state officials on Monday, July 20, said on Sunday, July 19, at 8:30 p.m., there were 48,055 COVID-19 cases in the state. This is an increase of 162 cases over the 47,893 on Thursday, July 16, at 8:30 p.m. The total number of cases in Middlebury remained at 50.

On Sunday at 8:30 p.m., 54 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, a decrease of 12 patients, and 4,406 people had died, an increase of 10 deaths.

Cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 47 confirmed and 3 probable, Naugatuck – 407 confirmed and 9 probable, Oxford – 80 confirmed and 3 probable, Southbury – 196 confirmed and 5 probable, Woodbury – 52 confirmed and 2 probable, Watertown – 145 confirmed and 7 probable, Waterbury – 2,019 confirmed and 86 probable.
