- Today’s update includes a large set of data from an out-of-state lab on tests conducted between May 23 and July 20 and just reported to the state today — 12,000 tests with 440 positives. There were 104 newly reported positive cases in the day-to-day report.
On Friday, July 24, 2020, Connecticut state officials said on Thursday, July 23, at 8:30 p.m. there were 48,776 COVID-19 cases in the state, an increase of 544 cases over the 48,232 on Wednesday, July 22, at 8:30 p.m. The total number of cases in Middlebury remained at 49.
On Thursday at 8:30 p.m., 71 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, a decrease of 1 patient, and 4,413 people had died, an increase of 3 deaths.
Cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 46 confirmed and 3 probable, Naugatuck – 409 confirmed and 9 probable, Oxford – 81 confirmed and 4 probable, Southbury – 194 confirmed and 5 probable, Woodbury – 52 confirmed and 1 probable, Watertown – 145 confirmed and 7 probable, Waterbury – 2,037 confirmed and 88 probable.
