COVID-19 Update – July 29, 2020 – 49,540 cases

On Wednesday, July 29, 2020, Connecticut state officials said on Tuesday, July 28, at 8:30 p.m. there were 49,540 COVID-19 cases in the state. While this appears to be an increase of 464 cases over the 49,077 on Monday, July 27, at 8:30 p.m., the day to day increase was 79. The additional 384 cases were cases from April to June that were just reported to the DPH. The total number of cases in Middlebury remained at 49.

On Monday at 8:30 p.m., 53 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, a decrease of 1 patient, and 4,425 people had died, an increase of 2 deaths.

Cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 46 confirmed and 3 probable, Naugatuck – 412 confirmed and 10 probable, Oxford – 82 confirmed and 4 probable, Southbury – 195 confirmed and 5 probable, Woodbury – 52 confirmed and 1 probable, Watertown – 148 confirmed and 8 probable, Waterbury – 2,050 confirmed and 89 probable.
