On Tuesday, August 4, 2020, Connecticut state officials said on Monday, August 3, at 8:30 p.m. there were 50,110 COVID-19 cases in the state. This is an increase of 48 cases over the 50,062 on Sunday, August 2, at 8:30 p.m. The total number of cases in Middlebury remained at 50.

On Monday at 8:30 p.m., 60 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, an increase of 4 patients, and 4,437 people had died, the same number reported Sunday.

Cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 47 confirmed and 3 probable, Naugatuck – 412 confirmed and 11 probable, Oxford – 84 confirmed and 4 probable, Southbury – 196 confirmed and 5 probable, Woodbury – 53 confirmed and 1 probable, Watertown – 150 confirmed and 8 probable, Waterbury – 2,084 confirmed and 91 probable.
