#Middlebury #5K #StGeorges
The annual Gingerbread Village at St. George’s Episcopal Church in Middlebury, a beloved Christmas event for more than 50 years, is a major fundraiser for the church. Volunteers build masterful gingerbread houses and display/sell them to visitors from near and far who are getting into the Christmas spirit. This year the Gingerbread Village had to be canceled due to COVID.
To help the church compensate for the loss of its major fundraiser, friends and family members of St. George’s can participate in the St. George’s Virtual 5K. Buy your race T-shirt and then go for a 5K walk or run for St. George’s from Sunday, December 6, through Sunday, December 13.
Every T-shirt sale counts! Order your race T-shirt here. Proceeds of the race shirt sales will go to the church and if you wish to make an additional donation, you can do so while purchasing your shirt. Also, the Gingerbread Fund has been established and more information is available at www.stgeorgesct.com.
Shirts can be picked up or shipped (for a minimal shipping fee), but must be ordered by November 15! Pick up your shirt(s) at the church on Tucker Hill Road Sunday, December 6, or Sunday, December 13, between 10 a.m. and noon. For additional details call 203-758-9864.
Choose your own course or use one of the suggested courses that will be emailed to you December 6. There’s no need to record your time; just enjoy your run, walk or jog! Post a picture on the church website (listed below) using the hashtag #gingerbread5k2020.
