Loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend

Mr. Spiros Velezis, 79, of Middlebury passed away peacefully at Waterbury Hospital on Sunday, December 13, 2020. He was the loving husband for 53 years to Lola (Stefanopoulos) Velezis.

Spiros was born in Eptahori, Greece, on November 11, 1941, a son of the late John and Athena (Vlahos) Velezis. He immigrated to the United States with so little and ended up creating so much, multiple restaurants and businesses, currently along with his wife and son owned and operated the Four Brothers Restaurant in Mahopac, New York, but especially his beautiful family: his children, Athena Capobianco and her husband Valerio of Watertown; Elaine Oatmeyer and her husband, Daniel, of Boca Raton, Florida; John Velezis and his wife, Gabi, of Carmel, New York; his grandchildren that he adored: Theodora, Daniella and Yianni Oatmeyer; Valerio and Eliana Capobianco; and Spiros, Silvio and Theodore Velezis; his brother, James Velezis, and his wife, Patra, of Watertown; his sisters-in-law, Paula Velezis and Yiannoula Velezis; his brothers-in-law, Chris, George, Billy, Peter, Nick, and their wives, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, the Eptahorion Society, as well as a member of AHEPA (American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association.) He enjoyed vacationing in Florida with his family.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, all services will be private. Brookside Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home & Crematory at 200 Benson Road in Middlebury has been entrusted with the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Spiros’s memory to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 937 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT 06708
