On Thursday, December 17, 2020, Connecticut state officials said on Wednesday, December 16, at 8:30 p.m., there were 160,102 COVID-19 cases in the state. This is an increase of 2,321 cases since Tuesday, December 15, at 8:30 p.m.

On Wednesday at 8:30 p.m., 1,205 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, a decrease of 49 patients, and deaths numbered 5,552, an increase of 46 deaths.

Cumulative cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 282 confirmed (+4) and 25 probable (no new probable cases), Naugatuck – 1,505 confirmed and 92 probable, Oxford – 342 confirmed and 17 probable, Southbury – 577 confirmed and 38 probable, Woodbury – 282 confirmed and 13 probable, Watertown – 1,012 confirmed and 86 probable, and Waterbury – 7,417 confirmed and 511 probable.
