On Wednesday, December 23, 2020, Connecticut state officials said on Tuesday, December 22, at 8:30 p.m., there were 170,705 COVID-19 cases in the state. This is an increase of 1,745 cases since Monday, December 21, at 8:30 p.m.

On Tuesday at 8:30 p.m., 1,155 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, a decrease of 4 patients, and deaths numbered 5,736, an increase of 33 deaths.

Cumulative cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 327 confirmed (+1) and 26 probable (no change), Naugatuck – 1,612 confirmed and 99 probable, Oxford – 373 confirmed and 20 probable, Southbury – 636 confirmed and 44 probable, Woodbury – 311 confirmed and 13 probable, Watertown – 1,093 confirmed and 93 probable, and Waterbury – 7,915 confirmed and 542 probable.
