Marilyn Engelman, 92, of Middlebury passed away December 24, 2020, at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was the wife of the late attorney Morton Engelman.
Mrs. Engelman was born December 21, 1928, in Maplewood, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Max and Frieda (Turkenkopf) Gross. She was a longtime kindergarten teacher at Falls Ave and Polk Schools in the Watertown School System. She also served proudly on the Middlebury Library Board for 60 years.
Mrs. Engelman is survived by her two sons, attorney Lawrence Engelman of Oxford, Connecticut, and his wife, Deyanira, and Donald Engelman of Fresno, California, and his wife, Katie. She also is survived by her adoring grandchildren, Rachael Engelman, Conor Engelman, Jacob Engelman and Cooper Engelman.
Funeral services were held privately in Melchizedek Cemetery. Shiva will be held at the convenience of the family. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury is assisting with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to The Middlebury Library, 30 Crest Rd, Middlebury, CT 06762.
