On Tuesday, December 29, 2020, Connecticut state officials said from Sunday, December 27, 2020, at 8:30 p.m. to Monday, December 28, at 8:30 p.m., COVID-19 cases in the state rose to 181,967. This is an increase of 767 cases over 24 hours.

On Monday at 8:30 p.m., 1,226 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, an increase of 7 patients, and deaths numbered 5,924, an increase of 20 deaths.

Cumulative cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 367 confirmed (+2) and 30 probable (+2), Naugatuck – 1,737 confirmed and 102 probable, Oxford – 406 confirmed and 22 probable, Southbury – 697 confirmed and 47 probable, Woodbury – 327 confirmed and 16 probable, Watertown – 1,182 confirmed and 100 probable, and Waterbury – 8,452 confirmed and 553 probable.
