This is an increase of 2,382 cases over three days. The state daily test positivity rate as of Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at 8:30 p.m. was 2.76%, down from 2.95% Sunday, March 14, 2021, at 8:30 p.m.
On Wednesday at 8:30 p.m., 384 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, a decrease of 23 patients since Sunday, and deaths numbered 7,822, an increase of 34 deaths.
Cumulative cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 554 confirmed (+5) and 55 probable (no change), Naugatuck – 2,685 confirmed and 236 probable, Oxford – 722 confirmed and 53 probable, Southbury – 1,076 confirmed and 130 probable, Woodbury – 484 confirmed and 50 probable, Watertown – 1,861 confirmed and 207 probable, and Waterbury – 12,277 confirmed and 1,035 probable.
