This is an increase of 4,183 cases over four days. The state daily test positivity rate as of Sunday, March 21, 2021, at 8:30 p.m. was 3.59%, up from 2.76% Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at 8:30 p.m.
On Sunday at 8:30 p.m., 389 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, an increase of 5 patients since Wednesday, and deaths numbered 7,841, an increase of 19 deaths.
Cumulative cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 559 confirmed (+5) and 55 probable (no change), Naugatuck – 2,725 confirmed and 249 probable, Oxford – 741 confirmed and 53 probable, Southbury – 1,096 confirmed and 136 probable, Woodbury – 491 confirmed and 53 probable, Watertown – 1,890 confirmed and 219 probable, and Waterbury – 12,481 confirmed and 1,081 probable.
