This is an increase of 3,844 cases over three days. The state daily test positivity rate as of Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at 8:30 p.m. was 3.88%, up from 3.59% Sunday, March 21, 2021, at 8:30 p.m.
On Wednesday at 8:30 p.m., 434 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, an increase of 21 patients since Sunday, and deaths numbered 7,862, an increase of 21 deaths.
Cumulative cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 564 confirmed (+5) and 58 probable (+3), Naugatuck – 2,743 confirmed and 255 probable, Oxford – 750 confirmed and 59 probable, Southbury – 1,108 confirmed and 148 probable, Woodbury – 500 confirmed and 55 probable, Watertown – 1,923 confirmed and 232 probable, and Waterbury – 12,621 confirmed and 1,173 probable.
