  • Middlebury reported no new deaths from COVID-19; total deaths remain at 19.

On Monday, April 12, 2021, Connecticut state officials said from Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at 8:30 p.m. to Sunday, April 11, 2021, at 8:30 p.m., COVID-19 cases in the state rose to 324,571. This is an increase of 4,792 cases over four days. The state daily test positivity rate as of Sunday, April 11, 2021, at 8:30 p.m. was 3.02%, up from 2.41% Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at 8:30 p.m.

On Sunday at 8:30 p.m., 524 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, an increase of 9 patients since Wednesday, and deaths numbered 7,940, an increase of 17 deaths.

Cumulative cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 602 confirmed (+10) and 72 probable (no change), Naugatuck – 2,996 confirmed and 288 probable, Oxford – 807 confirmed and 76 probable, Southbury – 1,180 confirmed and 197 probable, Woodbury – 544 confirmed and 66 probable, Watertown – 2,078 confirmed and 265 probable, and Waterbury – 13,681 confirmed and 1,382 probable.
