After months of renovations, the Alltown Fresh store at the gas station at 504-520 Middlebury Road in Middlebury will host a socially distanced outdoor Cinco De Mayo opening event Wednesday, May 5, following an 11 a.m. ribbon cutting. The event will feature a tasty menu of tacos, mock-margaritas, fun activities for the family and exciting giveaways.
Alltown Fresh Vice President and Chef Joshua Smith said, “Connecticut has embraced our concept and we appreciate the support! We’re committed to bringing fresh, made-to-order dishes to the community and the commuter. Alltown Fresh is the restaurant market of the future. There is nothing like this in the industry, or the neighborhood, for the complete guest experience. My team and I can’t wait to meet and cook for the Middlebury community!”
Look for the pop-up tent outside to find free samples of four different Alltown fresh tacos, each served with heirloom corn tortillas, chopped onion, cilantro, and radish crudite. Guests may choose among four flavors of mocktail margaritas to go with their tacos. Activities for the family will include Paint A Pot, with seeds to bring home and plant; lawn games such as Corn Hole, Spike Ball, and Huge Jenga; and more.
The newly renovated store will offer freshly brewed, bean to cup fair trade coffee, made-to-order breakfast and lunch all day, regional farmstand products, kombucha & espresso stations, fresh juices and smoothies, Alltown Fresh grocery crates, chef-inspired meal kits, groceries, household essentials, free guest WiFi and phone charging, and curbside pickup and delivery in addition to gas and diesel. The company bills the store as a place that feels like you’re in a modern-day general store, with homemade treats, handcrafted breakfast and lunch dishes, local farmstand products and thoughtful discoveries at every turn. The setting is stylish and welcoming, with chalkboard signage alongside textures of wood, chrome and distressed metals, all creating a sense of warmth and friendly hospitality. “Come in to fuel your car and leave with a home-cooked roast chicken dinner for the family” said Smith with a smile. “Our goal is to become your favorite neighbor who happens to be a great cook and always has that extra special something in the pantry. We’ve got you covered!”
