On Wednesday at 8:30 p.m., 66 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, an increase of 16 patients since Sunday, and deaths rose to 8,286, an increase of 4 deaths since Wednesday, July 19.

Cumulative cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 629 confirmed and 93 probable, Naugatuck – 3,221 confirmed and 370 probable, Oxford – 861 confirmed and 92 probable, Southbury – 1,249 confirmed and 229 probable, Woodbury – 568 confirmed and 81 probable, Watertown – 2,217 confirmed and 316 probable, and Waterbury – 14,894 confirmed and 1,716 probable.
