On Monday, November 1, 2021, Connecticut state officials said from Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at 8:30 p.m. to Sunday, October 31, 2021, at 8:30 p.m., the number of COVID-19 cases in the state rose to 403,415 cases. This is an increase of 1,256 cases over four days. The state daily test positivity rate as of Sunday, October 31, 2021, at 8:30 p.m. was 1.64%, down from 1.77% on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at 8:30 p.m.

On Sunday at 8:30 p.m., 205 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, 14 more than on Wednesday. Through Wednesday, October 27, deaths numbered 8,751, an increase of 30 deaths since October 20. Deaths are reported once a week.

Cumulative cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 716 (+3) confirmed and 113 (no change) probable, Naugatuck – 3,646 confirmed and 489 probable, Oxford – 1,053 confirmed and 110 probable, Southbury – 1,432 confirmed and 273 probable, Woodbury – 655 confirmed and 115 probable, Watertown – 2,518 confirmed and 403 probable, and Waterbury – 16,387 confirmed and 2,152 probable.
