The state daily test positivity rate as of Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at 8:30 p.m. was 6.52%, up from 5.25% on Sunday, November 28, 2021, at 8:30 p.m.

On Wednesday at 8:30 p.m., 414 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, an increase of 60 patients since Sunday. Through Wednesday, December 1, deaths numbered 8,909, an increase of 44 deaths since November 24. Deaths are reported once a week.

Cumulative cases in Middlebury and abutting towns were: Middlebury – 757 (+2) confirmed and 117 (+1) probable, Naugatuck – 3,855 confirmed and 556 probable, Oxford – 1,161 confirmed and 115 probable, Southbury – 1,528 confirmed and 279 probable, Woodbury – 730 confirmed and 120 probable, Watertown – 2,697 confirmed and 420 probable, and Waterbury – 17,194 confirmed and 2,220 probable.
