Loving father, grandfather, son and brother
Kenneth Clifford Guerrette, 64, of Middlebury entered into the gates of heaven on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at Waterbury Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Ken was born in Waterbury on July 21, 1958, son of Lorraine (Cordeau) Guerrette of Middlebury and the late Clifford L. Guerrette. Ken graduated from Pomperaug High School and then enlisted with the U.S. Marine Corps, where he earned the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. He lived in Columbus, Ohio for over 20 years, where he served as a computer analyst for the U.S. Marine Corps Defense Center until his retirement in 2018. Upon his retirement he moved back to Connecticut, where he worked part time at Larry’s Wine & Spirits in Middlebury for many years. He was a member of the Amvets Post 1776 in Ohio, a member of the NRA, loved playing Bingo and collecting baseball cards and trains, as well as an avid coin collector.
Besides his mother, Lorraine, Ken leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Samantha Guerrette of Lancaster, Ohio; three grandchildren, Devigha Clark, Jadisyn Guerrette, and Braidon Guerrette, all of Ohio; siblings Lori Gibilsco and her husband, John, of Wolcott; and Gerald “Jerry” Guerrette of North Carolina; and his former wife, Donna “Jodie” (Smearman) Guerrette. He was predeceased by his brother Ricky Guerrette.
His funeral will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. at Brookside Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home and Crematory at 200 Benson Road in Middlebury followed by military honors. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
