This is an increase of 2,950 cases over six days. The state daily test positivity rate as of Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at 8:30 p.m. was 8.97%, down from 10.56% on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at 8:30 p.m.

On August 31 at 8:30 p.m., 353 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, 10 fewer than on August 24. Through Wednesday, August 31, deaths numbered 11,269, an increase of 74 deaths since August 24. However, a footnote advises that number includes a backlog dating to May 2022. Deaths in the past week numbered 17.
