Middlebury Police Chief Pat Deely said the department responded to the Webster Bank at 400 Middlebury Road in Middlebury for a bank robbery that occurred about 3 p.m. Friday, April 28. Initial reports are that a skinny white male in his early 20s, 5’10” to 6’, thin build wearing black and white sneakers, black sweat pants, black hoody, dark sun glasses and a pink face mask walked into the branch bank and handed a teller a note demanding money. When the teller handed over some money, the bank robber took off on foot, running across the street.
A Connecticut State Police canine tracking dog was called to the scene and tracked the bank robber to Steinmann Avenue before losing the robber’s scent. More information and the bank robber’s photo will be posted as soon as we have them.
