Middlebury Police said in a November 29, 2023, press release that on November 28, 2023, at 1:31 p,m. they were called to the area of Kelly Road and Nick Road for a report of an elderly male who walked away from his home. Dispatch advised the elderly male suffers from dementia and was last seen wearing a blue bathrobe and slippers.
Connecticut State Police sent a tracking dog, and the Middlebury Police Department
utilized its drone to assist in the search. Middlebury Fire and Ambulance assisted as well.
The elderly male was located at approximately 2:10 p.m. by Officer Guisto in the woods off Kelly Road. The man was conscious and alert. Middlebury EMS transported him to an area hospital for evaluation.
Everyone involved in the search was pleased with the outcome.
