#MiddleburyCT #SummerConcerts

Middlebury, Southbury and Thomaston are offering free summer concerts. Middlebury’s July concerts will be Thursday, July 11, with Morgan Skelly and the Old Crows and Thursday, July 25, with Cajun Ray and the Steamers. In August, Marty Q will perform Thursday, August 8, and Bill and Brett Calabrese will perform Thursday, August 22.

Middlebury’s concerts start at 6 p.m. by the gazebo in Shepardson Field at Shepardson Community Center at 1172 Whittemore Road in Middlebury. Bring a lawn chair and a picnic dinner, along with a non-perishable donation for the Middlebury Food Bank. Youth organizations will be selling snacks.

Southbury’s concerts are held Mondays at 6 p.m. at the Town Hall Green at 501 Main St. S. Park in the lower lot of Town Hall, at Southbury Parks & Recreation at 561 Main St. S. and at Pomperaug Elementary School. Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and picnics. Rain will cancel; alerts will be posted on Southbury Parks and Rec’s page, MyRec.

“Cover 2 Cover” will perform July 15. This band is celebrating its 16th year entertaining New England. C2C has been recognized as CT’s premier dance party band playing all the best hits from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and more.

July 22 brings “The O-Tones,” a hot New England Swing and Motown band that appeals to all ages. With lots of soul, they’ll get your feet dancing. Their songs are well-loved, coming from many different eras.

“The Rakes” will perform July 29. The Rakes are a band of five friends who have as much fun perfecting their songs as they do performing them; and it shows. Exceptional vocals are at the forefront with solid backing musicianship that compliments rather than distracts. The Rakes are a countryish Americana band that defies the “country” label.

The Fine Arts Connection of Thomaston continues its 21st year of free summer outdoor concerts at Reeves Little League Field at 9 North Main St. in Thomaston sponsored by the Thomaston Savings Bank Foundation. Each concert runs from 7 to 8:30 pm. Reeves Field is handicap accessible. The Little League Snack Shack will be open for food and snacks. Bring your lawn chair or blanket, leave your alcohol at home, sit back and enjoy the wonder of live music!

July concerts are: July 15 – The Tradesmen (www.facebook.com/tradesmen), July 22 – Shed Rats (www.facebook.com/ShedRatsbooking) and July 29 – Nekita Waller and Band (www.facebook.com/nekitawaller).
