Loving wife, mother and grandmother

Mrs. Sharron M. (Aldo) Langenbach, 78, of Middlebury, entered into the Gates of Heaven on Sunday October 20, 2024, at the VITAS inpatient Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of Robert Langenbach.

Sharron was born in Milford, Conn., on December 10, 1945, a daughter of the late Lee and Marie (Boyd) Aldo. She graduated from the Academy of Our Lady of Mercy, Lauralton Hall High School Class of 1963 and earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Mount Saint Mary College in Newburg, N.Y. She worked as a career counselor for the State of Connecticut Labor Department for over 20 years until her retirement.

She enjoyed tending and manicuring her flower gardens and watching and feeding all the birds in her yard, especially her Bluebirds. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family, preparing meals and going on family vacations. Her favorite vacation spot was Captiva Island, Florida, where she cherished quality time with her family collecting shells and watching sunsets. She loved having her family around for holidays and decorating her home and mantel for every season: owls for the winter, birds for the spring, flowers for the summer, and pumpkins for the fall. She was a longtime communicant of St. John of the Cross Church and a former participant in their Bible Study.

Besides her husband, Robert, of 56 years, she leaves to honor and cherish her memory: two daughters, Jessica Langenbach and her husband, Bruce Gilbert, of Middlebury and Robin Kovach and her husband, Todd, of Elkridge, Md.; a brother, Peter Aldo of Savannah, Ga.; two grandsons, Camren Kovach and Connor Kovach; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Joan Dunn.

The family sincerely thanks the entire staff of VITAS for all their compassion and comfort given to Sharron during her final days.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday October 24, 2024, at 10 a.m. at St. John of the Cross Church at 1263 West St. in Middlebury. Everyone attending is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Lake Elise Cemetery in Middlebury. There are no calling hours. Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home at 430 Chase Parkway in Waterbury has been entrusted with Sharron’s arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Sharron’s memory to St. Vincent DePaul Soup Kitchen, 327 S. Main St., Waterbury, CT 06706
