Jennifer (Cipriano) Bona, 53, of Woodbury, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, December 14, 2024, with her loving family by her side after a courageous 15 year battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was the beloved wife of Robert Bona.

Jennifer was born on May 4, 1971, in Miami, Florida, a daughter of James T. and Elaine (Ciarlo) Cipriano. She was a graduate of Nonnewaug High School, Class of 1989. She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing at Sacred Heart University. She worked as a registered nurse for New England Home Care, St. Mary’s Hospital for 12 years, CT Department of Corrections, Region 15 School System and The Taft School. Jennifer also instructed birthing classes at St. Mary’s Hospital and volunteered at Woodbury Ambulance and the Woodbury Fire Department. She taught CCD at St. John of the Cross Church.

Jennifer was a proud and devoted homemaker and mother who cherished spending time with her close-knit family. She never missed a single sporting event or function of her four boys even when unable to get out of the car where she would observe from. Jennifer shared her cooking and baking skills with her sons and other family members. She enjoyed scrapbooking and was very meticulous when cleaning her home. She also had a very strong sibling competitiveness. Prior to her disability she was an avid golfer and former member of the Country Club of Waterbury.

Besides her husband, Rob, of 25 years and her parents of Woodbury, Jennifer leaves four sons, Zachary Bona, twins Jacob and James Bona, and Nicholas Bona, all of Woodbury; her siblings, Debra Cipriano, James T. Cipriano Jr. and his wife, Dawn, Jason Cipriano and his wife, Lisa, Jarrod Cipriano and his wife, Jennifer, all of Woodbury; her mother-in-law, Kathleen Bona of Middlebury; a brother-in-law, Oreste “Rusty” Bona of Middlebury; many nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Jennifer’s funeral will be on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 12:15 p.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial/Albini Family Funeral Home at 430 Chase Parkway in Waterbury to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception for a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Lake Elise Cemetery in Middlebury. Calling hours will be held Thursday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
